King and Minister Plasterk to visit Saba and St Eustatius
His Majesty the King and the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plasterk, will visit Saba and St Eustatius today, Tuesday 12 September 2017.
The visit will begin on Saba. The King and Mr Plasterk will be met at the airport by Island Governor Jonathan Johnson. The delegation will then visit the crisis centre on the island and speak with emergency workers and victims, before departing for St Eustatius.
The delegation will be met on arrival by Island Governor Julian Woodley. The King and Mr Plasterk will then meet local authorities and emergency workers, as well as representatives of the electricity company which restored power to the island in a very short amount of time. The visit to St Eustatius will close the King and Mr Plasterk’s visit to the islands.
